This practice either denies the deserving of recognition or bestows admiration on the arrogant.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"4950\" class=\"graf graf--figure graf-after--p\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"graf-image\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-images-1.medium.com\/max\/800\/1*Pn_Zhw4EJrVFfrT1DkqopA.png\" data-image-id=\"1*Pn_Zhw4EJrVFfrT1DkqopA.png\" data-width=\"350\" data-height=\"301\" \/><figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">Elements Talk\u00a02016<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p id=\"b25f\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--figure\">I met Olga Rafalska and Paulina Kacprzak, both former Design Graduates, to record our podcast [Bloc Thinking] recently. During the interview, I asked them if they still saw themselves as designers. I marked hesitation in their voices.<\/p>\n<p id=\"879a\" class=\"graf graf--p graf--startsWithDoubleQuote graf-after--p\"><strong class=\"markup--strong markup--p-strong\">\u201cWe\u2019re event organisers.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"84d0\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p\">Olga and Paulina organise of one of the most notable Design Events in Poland. <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"http:\/\/Element%20Talks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-href=\"http:\/\/Element Talks\">Element Talks<\/a> launched five years ago as a project in their graduate degree program. They resolved to turn their \u2018project\u2019 into a \u2018business\u2019 after an overwhelming response.<\/p>\n<p id=\"c118\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p\">They have been able to share their desire to learn what it means to be a design professional, with over 1 500 attendees year on year. Local and international professionals like Erik Kessels and Mike Monteiro have graced their platform filling a much-needed niche in Poland.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"8cb3\" class=\"graf graf--figure graf-after--p\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"graf-image\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-images-1.medium.com\/max\/800\/1*89qb79St77E1VoiJX96ROA.png\" data-image-id=\"1*89qb79St77E1VoiJX96ROA.png\" data-width=\"450\" data-height=\"300\" data-is-featured=\"true\" \/><figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">Olga Rafalska and Paulina\u00a0Kacprzak<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p id=\"7054\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--figure\"><strong class=\"markup--strong markup--p-strong\">Are they designers?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"851f\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p\">Of course, they are! A dear friend and one of the co-authors of the <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"http:\/\/www.eventmodelgeneration.com\/book\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-href=\"http:\/\/www.eventmodelgeneration.com\/book\/\">Event Design Handbook<\/a> would be quick to lay this topic to rest. Let me on this.<\/p>\n<p id=\"58c6\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p\"><strong class=\"markup--strong markup--p-strong\">[Everyone has the potential] To be a designer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"5a6d\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p\">Fact is, anybody can be a designer.
